FREEZE WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM CST SATURDAY TO 10 AM CDT
SUNDAY...
* WHAT...For the Freeze Warning tonight, sub-freezing temperatures
as low as 28 expected. For the Freeze Warning Saturday night
into Sunday morning, sub-freezing temperatures as low as 24
expected. For the Wind Advisory tonight into Saturday, north
winds 20 to 25 mph and gusts to 40 mph expected, with higher
gusts possible.
* WHERE...Portions of northeast Louisiana, central, east
central, north central, northeast, northwest, south central,
southeast, southwest and west central Mississippi and
southeast Arkansas.
* WHEN...For the Freeze Warning tonight, from midnight tonight to
10 AM CST Saturday. For the Freeze Warning Saturday night into
Sunday morning, from 6 PM CST Saturday to 10 AM CDT Sunday. For
the Wind Advisory, from 6 PM this evening to 3 PM CST Saturday.
* IMPACTS...Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree
limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
Freeze conditions will kill crops, other sensitive vegetation
and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high
profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.
Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent
freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should
be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have
in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-
ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
