Embezzlement Sends Two Former County Employees To Jail

Two Former Lauderdale County road department employees have been sentenced to prison for fuel theft that took place in 2019.
Jerry Morgan was sentenced for 5 years plus $237,914.41 restitution and another $8,000 for fines and fees.Morgan was found guilty of stealing county fuel and selling it on the black market.
Charles Houston was sentenced to 3 years plus $22,125.68 restitution plus another $8,000 in fines and fees. Houston was charged with count of embezzlement.
